The CHA has three types of public housing; Elderly housing (for persons over 62), Standard housing and Select housing. The CHA is not opening the Elderly Housing waiting list during this opening of the waiting list.

Standard housing is the CHA’s older public housing complexes and there are no income or employment requirements to make an application for this housing. We are only opening the 4 and 4 bedroom size waiting list at this time. We are not accepting applications for 1, 2, 3 or 4 bedrooms.

In select housing, the CHA offers to those families that are eligible a type of housing where CHA services are not as prevalent. For example, this may be one of the CHA’s single family house; residents are required to cut the grass, maintain the lawn, and are expected to maintain the unit in higher level of care. The CHA is opening the 2, 3, and 4 bedroom waiting list for select housing.
