We believe all of our residents deserve a chance to better themselves.  Our Family Self Sufficiency Department (FSS) offers a variety of programs to help people gain additional education and training in order to move ahead in life.  

Our FSS department can assist you locate and complete a job training program.  If you would like to complete your high school diploma or obtain your GED, your Case Manager can point you in the right direction.  ​

Resident Programs

Since 1934, the Columbia Housing Authority has been providing affordable housing to the citizens of the City of Columbia and Richland County in South Carolina. 


Career Resource Center – Includes information about available jobs, training classes and employment counseling;  computers are available for online job searches and applications; located at  the CHA main office, 1917 Harden Street.   Contact your case manager for an appointment.
