2006-2006: Cayce Housing Needs
In this section of the Annual
Plan, each authority is required to identify the housing needs of the Authority
based on the statistics of the waiting list
The Columbia Housing Authority
maintains the waiting list of the Cayce Housing Authority.
On
February 4, 2005
, there were over 4,514 families on the total waiting list for housing.
The number of applicants that have requested housing in Cayce is 290.
The waiting list indicates there is a need for additional one, two, and
three bedroom units. The Cayce
Housing Authority has no plans for the creation of any additional housing at
this time due to the limitations of the 1998 Quality Affordable Housing Act.
The Board of Commissioners of the Cayce Housing Authority will consider
all opportunities to increase the amount of available affordable housing during
the next five years. The agency
continues to cooperate with the City of
Cayce Government
in regards to housing programs.
