Columbia Housing Authority Seeks
Public
Nominations for the Prestigious
Wall of Fame
Columbia, S.C. - Columbia Housing Authority is now accepting nominee applications
for the 21st Annual Wall of Fame Ceremony.
Applications may be downloaded from the CHA Web site at www.chasc.org or
picked up at the CHA Main Office, 1917 Harden St.; CHA Resident Programs
Office, 1915 Harden St.; Cecil Tillis Center, 2111 Simpkins Lane; or at any CHA
management office. Completed
applications must be mailed or hand delivered to Donna Gilbert at the CHA Main
Office, 1917 Harden St., by 4 p.m. Jan. 11, 2008.
The Wall of
Fame, located at 2211 Read Street, honors former CHA public housing or Section
8 residents who have achieved personal success and made significant contributions
to the community. Specific eligibility
criteria are listed on the Wall of Fame application.
In addition to
honoring the recipients, the portraits featured on the Wall of Fame are
designed to inspire current CHA residents to overcome obstacles and achieve
success. Applicants who are selected for
the Wall of Fame honor will be inducted during the annual ceremony in April 2008.
CHA manages nearly 1,900
conventional public housing units and administers more than 3,100 rental
assistance contracts throughout Richland County. CHA is the third oldest housing authority in
the nation and has continuously been recognized by HUD for its successful
housing and education programs.
