Columbia Housing Authority Seeks Public

Nominations for the Prestigious Wall of Fame

Columbia, S.C. - Columbia Housing Authority is now accepting nominee applications for the 21st Annual Wall of Fame Ceremony.  Applications may be downloaded from the CHA Web site at www.chasc.org or picked up at the CHA Main Office, 1917 Harden St.; CHA Resident Programs Office, 1915 Harden St.; Cecil Tillis Center, 2111 Simpkins Lane; or at any CHA management office.  Completed applications must be mailed or hand delivered to Donna Gilbert at the CHA Main Office, 1917 Harden St., by 4 p.m. Jan. 11, 2008.

The Wall of Fame, located at 2211 Read Street, honors former CHA public housing or Section 8 residents who have achieved personal success and made significant contributions to the community.  Specific eligibility criteria are listed on the Wall of Fame application.

In addition to honoring the recipients, the portraits featured on the Wall of Fame are designed to inspire current CHA residents to overcome obstacles and achieve success.  Applicants who are selected for the Wall of Fame honor will be inducted during the annual ceremony in April 2008.

CHA manages nearly 1,900 conventional public housing units and administers more than 3,100 rental assistance contracts throughout Richland County.  CHA is the third oldest housing authority in the nation and has continuously been recognized by HUD for its successful housing and education programs.
