CONVENTIONAL HOUSING

Columbia Housing Authority's (CHA) conventional site-based waiting list allows applicants to apply for specific housing in five categories of public housing.   Eligibility for each is determined by whether or not the applicant has met pre-determined qualifications in a particular category.  The five categories of housing are listed below.

To apply for conventional housing, an individual must complete a pre-application card at the CHA Main Office, 1917 Harden Street. Pre-applications are accepted on the first business day of each week from 9-11 a.m. and 2-4 p.m., followed by a short review.

CHA
's Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list is currently closed and will remain closed until further notice.

When the list is reopened, CHA will advertise the opening 30 days prior in The State newspaper.

CONVENTIONAL HOME OWNERSHIP

CHA accepts applications for homeownership any day of the week between the hours of 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at its Main Office located at 1917 Harden Street.

SECTION 8 HOME OWNERSHIP

Section 8 Home Ownership applications are issued at the discretion of the Section 8 Department to families who meet the program's qualifications.
