THE PLANNING PROCESS
Much of 2003 was spent planning for the redevelopment of the site where Hendley Homes once stood. The proposed plan for the property was unveiled during a public meeting on December 2. The plan, which was developed under the direction of Urban Collage, a firm out of Atlanta, Georgia, was the result of an intensive public participation process.
The proposed plan for the Hendley site includes the following types of housing:
The plan also calls for several small parks, community facilities, and retail space. The layout of the new site will preserve the view of Williams Brice Stadium and help alleviate traffic problems through the realignment and addition of streets.
The new community will be named "Rosewood Hills."
